RADAR: Next Generation
We all started somewhere and at RADAR we believe in giving young people opportunities in the industry.
RADAR is committed to ensuring this is provided every year in a safe space. If you looked closely, our 2024-2026 Masterclasses were entirely crewed by a young team learning with hands-on experience, whilst also absorbing the masterclasses themselves.
Every year we take on keen young people on who want to learn artist accreditation, artist liaison, content creation, merch and stage crew.
The next generation in the music industry needs to cut their teeth somewhere, and we’re passionate about making sure that opportunities to do so.
If you’re interested in joining our programme or think that your college/university should be involved, please email us as we’d love to chat.
Daisy – Crew 2022-2025
“RADAR has become the highlight of my summer for the past three years I’ve been lucky enough to be part of it. Through this festival, I have learnt to communicate and network with all kinds of people, made lifelong friends and have really begun to cut my teeth in the world of festivals. The team supports each other in a way no other festival I have worked at does; everything is purely for the success of all. When working RADAR, I have been given opportunities to learn how to do artist laision, sell, manage and organise merchandise, dress sets and work accreditation, and the list goes on! Without this festival for progressive music and its beautiful bubble of people, of course forever expanding, I would not have such a clear vision of what I want to do in the industry and, furthermore, actually believe it could happen”.
Reuben – Crew 2024-6
“RADAR has shown me more of the behind the scene of live music at a larger scale. This has helped me understand what I can achieve within the industry not just in front-facing positions but other roles. I have also found that being in such a different environment has allowed me to become more independent and self-reliant in ways I was not aware of before”.
Dan – Crew 2024-6
“RADAR has provided me with opportunities and training within live sound, set-up, production, event management and provided networking opportunities, all at industry standard; this has led to subsequent work at other festivals.
The extended team provide as many opportunities as possible to learn and engage with whatever aspect of the festival you’re most interested in, all hands-on, regardless of experience level, with direct access to whatever support you need”.
Megan – Crew 2022-2026
“I honestly can’t thank Radar Festival enough for everything they do for me. I’ve learned so much about the music industry and what goes into running events. But what really stands out is how much it feels like a family. It’s such a safe, supportive space where everyone is kind, welcoming, and genuinely looks out for each other. They give me the chance to try out so many different roles, and it’s helped me figure out what I really want to do. RADAR has shown me what is possible working in the music industry!”
Izzy – Crew 2023-2026
“During my time at RADAR Festival, I have gained valuable experience in various aspects of event management and production through different opportunities such as organising and selling merchandise, artist liaison, and venue decoration. At RADAR I was given the opportunity to tap into and develop my creativity in a hands-on way. I had the freedom to brainstorm and implement new ideas that helped shape the aesthetic and atmosphere of the event. These roles taught me the importance of attention to detail, time management, and adaptability in a fast-paced, live event setting. Not only has this festival allowed me to communicate and network with an abundance of different people but has also created lifelong friendships!”.
Joel – Crew 2022-2024
“RADAR festival has been such an excellent opportunity and just an overall good time. It has allowed me the chance to see masters of their respective fields at work in their natural habitats.
Whether that be the sound engineers, stage crew, photographers/videographers or festival directors themselves. (Not to mention the bands!) RADAR has allowed me hands-on experience from setup to pack down of a world class music festival. All the while being incredibly supporting and friendly and allowing me to focus on areas that I find most interesting. The festival has truly given me an insight into the music industry and taught me how to effectively work within a large team that really makes me feel part of something special.“.
